The 4th Annual Conference [Report]
The 4th Annual Meeting, held on Monday, September 21, 2020 (national holiday), was held onsite and online with a reduced size venue from the perspective of preventing and spreading novel coronavirus infection.
Although the conference was held in cooperation with infection prevention efforts, it was a very meaningful day attended by medical professionals, general business people, people from research institutions, and patients.
Dr. Zen Tanaka, Representative Director, gave a speech at the beginning of the meeting.
Dr. Zen Tanaka is the President of Tanaka Clinic of Jinseikai Medical Corporation, where he promotes integrative medicine that makes full use of molecular nutrition, immunology, dental and oral environment, etc., with a focus on advanced cancer treatment, and practices medicine with the aim of contributing to the development of preventive medicine.
Intestinal flora transplantation and intestinal bacteria were explained in an easy-to-understand manner. Please click here to view the video.
►Shin Shimizu, Senior Researcher, Symbiosis Research Institute
In my days as a clinical laboratory technician 38 years ago, I spent day after day in the bacteriological laboratory, facing stools, and the bacteria I saw under the microscope took on various shapes, shaking as if they were conscious, and at other times as if they were frightened. He spoke at length about the possibilities of “bubbles” made of only “water” and “air” and the bacteria.
►Dr. Katsuaki Dan, Representative Director, Bioactive Research Organization, Inc.
It has been a common belief around the world that the intestinal flora cannot be changed, but now we have a new perspective on the differences between ultrafine bubble water and saline solution. Thanks to the joint research with Dr. Dan, we have made great progress in basic research this year.
►Dr. Masahiko Shirotani, Executive Director (Luke’s Ashiya Clinic)
The first speaker, Dr. Masahiko Johya, Executive Director, gave a presentation on a case of irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Masahiko Johtani has been involved in the management of this research group as a board member since its establishment. He has published books and given lectures to educate the public about the importance of the intestinal environment and intestinal flora transplantation. He not only treats gastrointestinal symptoms, but also provides medical care from a psychological aspect.

►Dr. Yuichi Kawai, Director (YUAKAI Medical Corporation, President, kawai Internal Medicine Clinic)
The second person is Dr. Yuichi Kawai, who was appointed as a board member at this year’s general meeting. Dr. Kawai selects appropriate medicine from not only Western medicine but also Oriental medicine, molecular integrative nutritional medicine, etc., and strives to practice “medicine that pleases both mind and body” with the first priority on “disease prevention.
He reported on the long-term progress of a patient with irritable bowel syndrome who underwent an intestinal flora transplant and has maintained a state of remission for a long time after reviewing his lifestyle.

►Dr. Kunihiro Kitamura, Director, Kitamura Clinic (President, Kiwakai Medical Corporation)
The third case was presented by Dr. Kunihiro Kitamura, Executive Director. Continuing from last year, Dr. Kitamura reported on the progress of a patient with autism.
He had been engaged in cancer treatment for over 20 years and felt the limitations of the so-called standard treatment. In the process, he came across integrative medicine and intestinal flora transplantation, and through his experience in treating autistic patients, he feels the new possibilities of intestinal flora transplantation.
Possibility of Intestinal Flora Transplantation
Chairperson: Dr. Zen Tanaka, Representative Director（Director, Tanaka Clinic, Jinzenkai Medical Corporation)
Bioactivity Research Organization, Incorporated Association Representative Director: Dr. Katsuaki Dan
Executive Director: Dr. Masahiko Shirotani (Director, Luke’s Ashiya Clinic)
Director: Dr. Yuichi Kawai (Director, Cute Internal Medicine Clinic)
Director: Dr. Kunihiro Kitamura (Director, Kitamura Clinic)
Senior Researcher, Symbiosis Institute: Shin Shimizu
A panel discussion was held by the doctors who presented in the first part of the meeting.
This year, in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, we accepted questions via a form. We received many questions on the theme of “Possibility of Intestinal Flora Transplantation,” which showed the high level of interest among the audience.
The sponsors of this year’s event were introduced.
Thank you very much for your support in sponsoring this event.
IN THE SECOND PART OF THE PRESENTATION, THE POSSIBILITY OF ULTRAFINE BUBBLES (UFBS), WHICH ARE BUBBLES SO SMALL THAT THEY ARE INVISIBLE TO THE EYE, WAS PRESENTED, AND I THINK THE ABSTRACTS SHOW HOW BASIC RESEARCH HAS BEEN BUILDING UP. THE PRODUCTION OF THESE UFBS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTS THAT APPLY THEM ARE CORE TECHNOLOGIES OF SYMBIOSIS.
[Research & Development]
►Mr. Masaaki Nikaido and Mr. Tomohiro Yoneda, Life Science Division, Beckman Coulter Inc.
Because the ultrafine bubbles (UFB) in Symbiosis are so small that they are invisible to the eye, we have not been able to measure them before. However, thanks to a wonderful encounter with Beckman Coulter, we were finally able to measure the bubbles.
Tomohiro Yoneda of Beckman Coulter K.K. explained to us the secret story behind the difficulties in measuring UFBs and how they differ from other ultrafine bubbles (UFBs). Verification Report
