How to join?

Are there any restrictions on medical specialties?

Transplantation Medical Institutions must be medical institutions that have “internal medicine” as their medical specialty. Consultation and Collaboration Institutions can be members across medical fields, such as medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine. Associate Membership is open to specialists in various fields who are interested in symbiotic bacteria and fecal microbiota transplantation, such as physicians, clinical technologists, clinical engineers, nurses, dietitians, nutritionists, and clinical psychologists.

Is donor safety ensured?

Donors undergo an initial examination of gut flora balance, blood, urine, and stool. Thereafter, we periodically repeat the world’s highest standard of examination items to confirm and guarantee that the donor is free from common adult diseases, infectious diseases such as hepatitis and pneumonia, and malignant tumors. In periodic inspections, only frozen and preserved stools that have been donated and stored up to that point are used as donor stools after the next passing of the next inspection. In Japan, the use of biological specimens is not currently regulated as legal biological specimens. The association is keeping abreast of the latest information and is preparing a system to respond to any changes in the law. We will strive to create a system to ensure that transplantation technology can continue for a long time, including handling domestic legal matters such as clinical research initiatives and providing guidance to affiliated medical institutions.
